Membership
Program
Golden City Comics has
updated its Membership program. The new Membership benefits and rules are
applicable as of 23 November 2002. Our Membership Program is based upon
years of experience in comic book collecting, and the concerns that
customers have voiced related to Membership packages they have taken
advantage of in the past.
- Membership is $10.00 per year.
- At the end of each year, Members in good standing who have
purchased an average of $20.00 Canadian or more per month from Golden
City Comics will be given the option of free renewal for an additional
year.
- Ordered titles are put aside, bagged and boarded when the
weekly shipment arrives. This maintains your order in the best
possible condition prior to your picking it up.
- Golden City Comics strives to meet all
customer orders, but is not responsible for the condition of comics
arriving from Diamond Comics Distributors. To ensure receipt of desired merchandise, members MUST
NOTIFY GOLDEN CITY COMICS prior to the PREVIEWS ORDER CUTOFF
DATE. We will attempt to meet
later orders, but cannot guarantee to do so.
- Ordered titles are stored out of reach of other customers. This
prevents other customers from taking sold-out items from your order.
- Membership orders take precedence over all other sales. Your
membership purchases will not be sold to anyone else.
- Membership orders must be picked up within three weeks of arrival,
unless other arrangements are made. (We are very willing to work with
customers whose schedules prevent regular pick-ups if we are notified
in advance.) Membership orders that are not picked up within this
timeframe may be sold to the general public at Golden City's
discretion. Members who do not
pick up their orders in a timely manner may have their membership
suspended or revoked at Golden City Comics’ discretion.
- Members make all purchases, except food and soft drink
products, at a minimum of 20% off.
- Membership savings do not "stack" with other sales.
For example, a 50% off sale does not give Members 70% off. However,
Members always take advantage of the best price available.
- Members are encouraged to inform Golden City Comics of items
they would like from the Previews catalogue, so these items can be
ordered in advance.
Purchasing Policy
Golden City Comics
purchases almost all of its stock from recognized distributors. This
is done largely for quality control purposes. It is not always possible
to go through each issue of an individual collection to determine its
actual condition.
Golden City Comics sometimes purchases from the public. In almost all
such cases, Golden City Comics prefers to purchase from regular
customers. We have a limited budget for purchases, and prefer to
reward those who frequent our store.
When dealing with collections, Golden City Comics typically offers between
$0.10 and $0.25 per issue, depending upon the quantity of issues, the title
mix, and their apparent condition. Golden City Comics may make an
offer on only part of the collection, or the complete collection being
offered. In the case of individual issues, Golden City Comics may
make a higher offer, again depending upon the issue, its condition,
and our estimation of local demand.
If we are interested in purchasing, Golden City Comics reserves the right
to make either a cash offer, or an offer for like value of merchandise.
